This new thornless blackberry was discovered in Corvallis, Oregon. Celestial has high plant vigor (the highest among any semi-erect plant from the USDA-ARS breeding program in Corvallis), exceptional yields of small to medium sized berries, and high heat tolerance. The berries are well suited for fresh consumption, with good sweetness, flavor and gloss when picked firm. Celestial has a semi-upright growth habit.
